Port Phillip Bay is where majority of our Snapper fishing is done. The bay sees a new run of Snapper from September through to February. Matthew Hunt Fishing Services has structured their charters to ensure that all times coincide with the best chance of hooking a Snapper. We generally target Whiting just prior to the start of and after Snapper Season When the seasons coincide with each other, we choose to primarily target the Snapper.

Matthew Hunt Fishing Services fishes all areas of Port Phillip Bay and will travel across the water to where the best reports and fishing spots are located, to increase your chance of getting on to the fish.

WHAT TO BRING ALONG.

To make your trip more enjoyable we suggest that you bring along appropriate clothing and footwear depending on weather conditions, sunglasses, warm/sun hat, any food/drink you may require while on trip, camera and all Anglers must have a current Victorian Fishing Licence(unless exempt).

All quality fishing gear is supplied, however if you wish to bring along your own, you are welcome to, please advise prior to charter so that we dont over stock boat with fishing gear.

Snapper - a highly prized eating fish. It has a mild to medium sweet flavoured, firm white flesh with a low oil content. Snapper are easy to fillet and the bones are large, and easily removed, which makes this a perfect fish for children to eat. Snapper is a versatile fish, ideal for pan frying, barbeques, grilling, steaming and baking.  

Whiting - A sweet mild flavor.  The fillets are thin, and are suitable for steaming or pan frying.  Do not overcook .
